A Pest Control Franchise 85+ Years in the Making

Truly Wheatfield Nolen started his pest control business in Miami Beach, Florida, in 1938, during the Great Depression. The company had roots in sanitation, which evolved into rodent and pest control.

Truly David Nolen, armed with an Entomology degree, expanded the family legacy in 1955 by launching his own pest control company in Tucson, Arizona. As the business flourished across the Southwest, he merged it with his father's in 1966, forming "Truly Nolen of America, Inc." The company's franchise journey began in 1998, spreading Truly's vision for superior pest control nationwide.

One Vision and Many Pests Later

Truly built the company on the foundation of the Golden Rule, treating others, like customers, employees, and business partners, as he would like to be treated. This philosophy, along with truly good pest control services, got things right.

Since day one, we’ve followed Truly's vision: Protect customers by providing proactive pest control that they're proud of and see as a sign of good housekeeping, done in an environmentally responsible way, and made affordable by serving neighbors.

We're Building Better Communities

In the early 1990s, Truly relocated to Naples, Florida, and became highly engaged in charity work. He ensured the company’s service offices were involved in local communities through various activities like home shows, hospital and school visits, neighborhood events, and even mouse car parades. This community commitment remains a cornerstone of the company today, with our corporate service offices and franchise locations actively participating.

Truly David Nolen's Legacy Lives On

Sadly, Truly David Nolen passed away on April 18, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vickie Taylor Nolen, eight children, 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. His love for his company inspired his children and grandchildren to pursue careers in the company and pest control industry. Daughter Scarlett Nolen currently serves as the company’s President.

Truly Nolen is Home to the Famous Mouse Cars

Truly Nolen's innovative approach to pest control extends beyond service to creative marketing. The company's fleet of antique cars and distinctive yellow Mouse Cars have become iconic symbols, regularly featured in local, national, and international media. These eye-catching vehicles, now synonymous with the Truly Nolen brand, serve as mobile billboards, driving impressions and smiles daily.

The History of the Yellow Mouse Car

Early in his business, Truly searched for a cost-effective yet highly efficient way to bring attention to his business endeavors. With the company color and style in mind, antique cars were originally used, with "Truly Nolen" painted on the side – but it didn’t seem to catch on.

In the 1960's, one of his managers created a red ant car to surprise Truly. While funny, it didn't quite hit the mark. A scorpion car was developed next, and several other variations on the theme followed.

Eventually, the current Mouse Car design was born – a small sedan with huge mouse ears and a tail. Initial aerodynamic challenges, which restricted the car to 25 - 35 mph to avoid breaking the ears, were solved with a spring system allowing the ears to lay back when in motion. The rest is history!

An Iconic Symbol that Continues to Evolve

The Mouse Car has become a community fixture, drawing attention and making headlines. It accomplishes what other companies might spend millions in advertising to achieve. Today, a variety of fuel-friendly and environmentally conscious vehicles are used, providing significant savings for the company and its franchisees.
