The annual meeting of franchise owners and support personnel is the highlight of our year. This meeting gives us to the chance to come together to review processes and the upcoming year’s focus, as well as socialize, bond, and celebrate each other’s victories. It’s an important reminder that, while you are running your own small business in your own hometown, as a Truly Nolen franchise you are part of something bigger and have a network of peers that support you every step of the way. During February 2021, we had the pleasure of hosting our first virtual annual meeting. Like many other companies in our current climate, we faced the challenge of switching from in-person meetings to a virtual setting where everything is a bit more complicated and far less personal.
I’m pleased to announce that our meeting was a tremendous success and it’s in no small part due to the amazing contributions from our owners. This year, we decided to tap more heavily into our existing franchise owners, as they are a wealth of knowledge and experience. Chris Mehalic (329-Charlotte, NC), Bob Toledo (331-Columbus, OH) and Jim Bess (374-Wintston Salem, NC) drew from their past and current business experiences to talk about the importance of budgeting and long-term strategic planning. Stu Benedict (500-Canadian Master Franchise) took a deep dive into KPIs and garnered interested in a test group of franchisees that will meet quarterly to review their individual performance in a group setting. These breakout sessions, as well as several others, sparked deep conversations and energized the group to push their limits.
One of the biggest benefits of purchasing a franchise is the peer-to-peer network. Having access to a group of individuals who have experienced the same challenges you’re now facing and have come out on the other side stronger is incredibly valuable. I’m so proud of our owners and their willingness to help their peers succeed. I can honestly say, with only moderate bias, that Truly Nolen franchise owners are the best of the best.
Thank you for an amazing year!
Truly yours,
Lance Washington
